SIZE GUIDE

The proper fit on your pet's collar

The "two-finger rule" for pet collars is a method to ensure a collar is fitted comfortably and safely, allowing you to easily slide two fingers between the collar and your pet's neck without forcing them. This rule prevents the collar from being too tight, which can cause choking, discomfort, or skin irritation, and too loose, which could lead to the pet slipping out and escaping.

HOW TO APPLY THE TWO-FINGER RULE

Place the collar on your dog or cat's neck: in its usual position, high on the neck and just below the ears.

Gently place your index and middle fingers: between the collar and your pet's neck.

ASSESS THE FIT:

Too Tight: If you have to force your fingers underneath, or if you feel significant pressure, the collar is too tight.

Too Loose: If there is extra room beyond two fingers, or you can easily move your fingers more than a wiggle side-to-side, the collar is too loose.

Just Right: You should be able to comfortably slide two fingers underneath the collar with slight pressure, allowing your pet to breathe, eat, drink, and move freely.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS:

Growth: Adjust collars regularly, especially for puppies and kittens, as they grow quickly and can outgrow their collars.

Comfort and Safety: A properly fitted collar ensures both the pet's well-being and its safety, preventing escape.

Regular Checks: Make it a habit to perform the two-finger check periodically, even on adult dogs, to ensure the collar still fits as their body weight can fluctuate.
